Minister Depraetere wants to make heat pumps cheaper: “Down VAT and investigate price agreements”

The VAT rate for gas or fuel oil heating boilers will rise from 1 July from 6 to 21 percent. With that measure, the government wants to stimulate the transition to renewable energy sources. The Flemish Minister for Energy Melissa Depraetere (Vooruit) is now calling for the federal government to quickly make works of reducing the VAT rate on heat pumps to 6 percent. “Heating with heat pumps should be the cheapest option. That is good for the planet and the wallet of people,” it sounds.
