Minister Brouns warns of use ‘environmentally friendly’ alternative to road salt: “Unjust that you can just use this”

Flemish Minister for Environment and Agriculture, Jo Brouns (CD&V), has asked more research into the use of urea -containing cooling pellets, which are advertised as an environmentally friendly alternative to road salt. However, urea is a fertilizer that, if it is used as an abuse, has a direct impact on water quality.
