Minister Brouns is requesting back up to 14.2 million euros in support from paper manufacturer Sappi

Flemish Minister of Work, Economy and Innovation Jo Brouns (CD&V) wants to reclaim up to 14.2 million euros in support from paper manufacturer Sappi, which announced on Tuesday that it would close the factory in Lanaken. This was reported by ‘Het Belang van Limburg’ on Wednesday evening and the news was confirmed to Belga by Brouns’ spokesperson. Due to the closure of the paper factory in Lanaken, approximately 550 jobs are at risk.
