Europe’s most successful athletes will come together at the 2027 European Games to be held in Istanbul between 16-27 June 2027.
Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak made evaluations one year before the start of Istanbul 2027, where a total of 26 sports, 22 of which will be Olympic, will take place.
Minister Bak said that they are proud and excited to host the 2027 European Games in Istanbul.
Drawing attention to Türkiye’s experience in organizing international sports organizations, Minister Bak said, “Turkey has become a prominent and appreciated country in all kinds of international sports organizations, with the facility development initiative carried out under the leadership of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in recent years. We have the newest and most modern sports facilities in the world. Istanbul has a long-established and proud tradition of hosting major international sports organizations. We are very excited that the best athletes of Europe will meet in Istanbul in 2027. “We look forward to hosting the best athletes of the continent in our country. Our country will successfully organize the Istanbul 2027 European Games with its strong sports infrastructure, advanced logistics capacity and organizational experience,” he said.

Emphasizing that Türkiye is a sports country, Minister Bak said, “Our country has successfully hosted many international organizations. We organized the UEFA Champions League final, the UEFA Europa League final. The 2027 UEFA Conference League final will be played in Istanbul. Formula 1 will be held in our country starting next year. We will organize the 2032 European Football Championship together with Italy. Many championships, from archery to wrestling, from swimming to boxing, are held in Türkiye. Those who come to our country “The convoys are leaving with satisfaction. There is a management style dedicated to sports in every sense and a Türkiye that is strengthened by sports. When we put all this into perspective, we are ready. Istanbul is ready, Türkiye is ready,” he said.
