More than a hundred innovative Dutch entrepreneurs from start-ups, SMEs to large companies are participating in the Germany Hanover Fair (April 17-21, 2023). On Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 April, Minister Micky Adriaansens (Economic Affairs and Climate) will visit the largest technological industry fair in the world where companies will show their innovations on themes such as digitization and sustainability of the (manufacturing) industry, ICT, high-tech materials, mobility, semiconductors and energy infrastructure.

The Dutch and German governments will also sign a letter of intent on Tuesday 18 April to work closely together on innovative battery technology for use in mobility and for (large-scale) energy storage with the aim of a more flexible energy system. Minister Adriaansens and German State Secretary Sabine Döring (Education and Research) want to work together with knowledge institutes and companies on the next generation of batteries that contain fewer critical raw materials such as lithium, encourage more recycling and research and develop new components for battery cell technology.

Adriaansens also goes on the Hanover Fair visits Dutch innovations and talks with German companies, knowledge institutions and politicians. The Hanover Fair has existed since 1947 and attracts more than 200,000 visitors from more than seventy countries every year. More than 6,500 companies in total are present at the fair where agreements are made about collaborations and investments in innovative products and services.
