Millions of contests for Erling Haaland are coming to a head

Erling Haaland is THE constant topic at Borussia Dortmund, rumors about his future dominate the headlines. But apparently not only are several top clubs fighting for the BVB goalscorer, two sporting goods manufacturers are also competing in spectacular fashion.

With every day of the hanging game for Erling Haaland, the fears at BVB increase: Will the 21-year-old Norwegian stay in Dortmund beyond the summer despite his release clause? Or the goal machine and consultant Mino Raiola the option to take the next step to an absolute top club?

In the struggle for Haaland, BVB apparently also wants to rely on the money factor. According to “Sport Bild”, those responsible are offering their by far the most valuable professional a salary doubling to 16 million euros – Haaland would thus become the best-paid player in BVB history.

But a battle for Haaland is raging on the other front as well. From his time at Red Bull Salzburg, before he finally made his breakthrough to become an international top star at BVB, the youngster is tied to the US giant Nike as his personal supplier. Haaland allegedly only collects around one million euros per year for this deal.

No more “Matching Right” from Nike at Erling Haaland

Nike currently has what is known as a “matching right” for Haaland matters. The company is therefore allowed to view offers from the competition to the BVB attacker. As “Image” reported, however, this will expire on January 1, 2022.

Puma, who is also an outfitter and an important shareholder at BVB, now wants to take advantage of this fact.

The sporting goods manufacturer Haaland, led by the Norwegian Björn Gulden, allegedly offers a whopping eight million euros a year – also so that he decides to stay in Dortmund and not to move to another club.
