Millionaire crashes with €500,000 Lamborghini on his way to auto show | drive

driveA Dutch millionaire has crashed with his €500,000 Lamborghini while on his way to a car show where his car was to be exhibited. The accident received a lot of attention, to the dismay of owner and driver Rick van Stippent (29). “You are being accused as a criminal,” it sounds.

Rick van Stippent (29) drove over the A28 near Zwolle last weekend when he drove over a bump in the highway. His Lamborghini Aventador S then spun around wildly, before slamming into the guardrail a few hundred yards away.

Both driver Rick van Stippent (29) and his passenger were unharmed. Very little remains of the pricey prestige car.

“Everything is broken. It is really unbelievable that we are still alive,” the millionaire told ‘Algemeen Dagblad’. “But I have all-risk insurance, so that will be fine”, Rick suspects, who thinks it is a shame that his car could not be seen at a car show on the circuit in Assen.

“Blamed as a criminal”

Rick van Stippent (29) is surprised by the amount of attention the accident received. “You are accused as a criminal,” he said in the TV show Jinek on RTL. “If I had driven a Volkswagen Polo, I would not have survived the accident, but I would not have crowed.”

He can’t remember how fast he was driving at the time of the crash. He confirms “that this is not a car to drive at a maximum of 100 kilometers per hour”.

No new ones

He is now waiting for news from the insurance company, but has already indicated that he will not buy a new Lamborghini for the time being. “Nothing for the time being, I say very honestly,” said Rick (29).

The man is known in the Netherlands as a self-made millionaire, who started washing cars as a child. He currently manages the well-functioning company ‘Stipt Polish Point’ in Vught, with which he renovates cars.
