Miles Kane: “Change The Show” (Review & Stream)

Miles Kane is a cool sock. Too cool for the general public, so his career has been a roller coaster ride so far. Curiously, his fourth solo album, which was recorded in the down-to-earth London neighborhood of Bethnal Green, spreads a lot more sunshine and joie de vivre than its predecessor from the LA days. All eleven songs are catchy. Our Gallagher friend starts with a posh T. rex homage, his duet with Corinne Bailey Rae exudes a wonderful sixties flair. Miles Roy Orbison was never closer than with “Coming Of Age”, the title track turns out to be a giant battle between Bowie and Slade. Can you top that, Alex Turner?
