Javier Milei has confirmed a new trip to the United States: he will be in that country on 4th of julythe date on which American Independence Day is commemorated. The information was confirmed from Quinta de Olivos to Infobae, and the first stop of the trip will be New York City. It is not ruled out that, once in the New York district, the president will then head to other cities in the country.

This is not just any anniversary: Trump seeks to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of 1776, which marked the formal separation of the British Empire. In this context, White House officials are even promoting a $250 bill with the portrait of the North American president, which would mark the first appearance of a living person on US currency in more than 150 years.

Visit number 17

With this trip, Milei will have set foot on American territory 17 times since he assumed the presidency in December 2023. The United States is, by far, the country he visited the most, with trips that included Washington DC, Miami, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austin, Sun Valley, Palm Beach and Doral.

In 2026 alone, Milei has already visited cities such as Washington, Miami and New York, where he led activities with businessmen, investors and officials. In February he participated in the first meeting of the Peace Council convened by Trump at the Institute of Peace in Washington. In March, Argentina Week 2026 was inaugurated, organized by the Argentine Embassy together with JP Morgan and Bank of America. In May he traveled to Los Angeles to speak at the 29th Milken Institute Global Conferenceaccompanied by the Minister of Economy Luis Caputo and the Chancellor Pablo Quirno.

The cost of so much flight

According to a reconstruction by Ámbito based on the management reports presented by the Chiefs of Staff to Congress, Milei accumulated more than $4.7 billion in expenses for trips abroad since the beginning of his mandate. Adorni’s last report before Deputies detailed that, between September 2025 and March 2026, the international transfers of the President and his entourage consumed an additional $437 million.

The President frames his repeated visits in his unrestricted alignment with Washington and in a strategy of seducing foreign investors. The alliance between both countries is being consolidated on different levels: at the end of April, Milei participated in the Passex 2026 naval exercise off the coast of Mar del Plata, where he visited the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. In March, SIDE head Cristian Auguadra met with CIA Director John Ratcliffe at Langley headquarters.

With the July 4 trip, the president will have visited the United States on average once every month and a half since he came to power.
