Milan: minimum revenues of 40 million from the Champions League

Defining it as a treasure would be improper, because it is income that is a consequence of the placement in the league, not the result of particular savings or sales. Having them available, however, is good for both the cash and the budget. These are the revenues deriving from qualification in the Champions League, which today represent the real divide between the clubs with more financial resources and those that have to set up the squad with much less resources. Milan, for the second consecutive season, will be in the Champions League, as per the first commandment of the Elliott management. And now that Singer’s fund is moving around – while retaining a minority stake -, RedBird can reap the rewards of the previous management’s work, using it as a foundation from which to build.

At the moment, it is obviously impossible to quantify the amount that will derive from the bonuses linked to the results, as the contribution in terms of proceeds deriving from the sale of tickets and mini-season tickets for the matches is not quantifiable. Speaking of minimum revenues, there is instead certainty on the 15.64 million of the participation bonus. The historical ranking is just under 15 million and the two market pools combine for about 10, again with some fluctuations that make it impracticable to obtain an exact figure. Wanting to give an estimate, we are around 40 million: a nice entrance prize, in short.

The hope is to be able to improve what was done in the 2021-22 season, when the Rossoneri came out in the group stage, finishing in last place despite having remained in the running for qualification until the second half of the final match. The first band that belongs by right to the Italian champions in the urn of Nyon should protect them from a hellish draw like the one that placed them in the group with Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Porto last year.
