Mikko Koskinen had a rough game – five setbacks and a substitution

Lugano’s Finnish star fired a hole-in-the-wall cheese.

Mikko Koskinen moved to Lugano for this season. PDO

Mikko Koskinen the evening speech at the Lugano finish on Tuesday night was, to put it mildly, grim.

Koskinen was substituted before the halftime break, when Fribourg had piled up five goals behind the Finn in just under 19 minutes.

The slaughter got so hard that “Kolmen metri Koskinen” tried to break his stick against the top tube of the goal, but he didn’t succeed.

Fribourg eventually won the match 6–1. Among the Finns, Friborg reached the power points Janne Kuokkanen and Lugano Markus Granlundwho got one assist point.

The previous four seasons with the Edmonton Oilers, Koskinen’s season in Switzerland has gone rather poorly. The Finn’s save percentage of 89.9 is enough for 20th place in the goalkeeper statistics of the series. Above are, among others, Ambri Piottan Janne Juvonen (92), of Biel Harri Säteri (91.8) and Kloten’s Juha Metsola (91.2).

Lugano is in 11th place in the series.
