Cyclist Mike Teunissen failed to keep the red leader’s jersey in the Tour of Spain. The third stage with start and finish in Breda was won by Irishman Sam Bennet after a bunch sprint. Teunissen hands over the red leader’s jersey to his teammate, the Italian Edoardo Affini.
With that, the red jersey remained in the possession of Jumbo-Visma, thanks to the win in the team time trial with which the Vuelta started on Friday in Utrecht.
Teunissen missed the bunch sprint in Breda and finished in one hundred and fiftyth place.
It was his second stage win in a row for Sam Bennet of Bora-hansgrohe. The second stage from Den Bosch to Utrecht was also won by the Irishman.
