Mike Snoei returns as Telstar trainer

It must be strange if Mike Snoei does not become the new trainer of Telstar. Both parties are nearing an agreement, sources within the club know. Peter Hofstede becomes one of his assistant trainers.

Chris B. van der Zwan of the Technical Committee says that Telstar is in negotiations with Snoei. This afternoon, the club from Velsen-Zuid hopes to complete the talks and present the new trainer. Snoei could not be reached for comment.

Dennis Haar, Jan Zoutman and Johnny Jansen were also candidates to become the new trainer. They also spoke to the club, but turned down an offer.

Second term

Snoei previously coached Telstar for two seasons between 2017 and 2019. In his first year, the Velsenaren finished sixth and participated in the play-offs for promotion. The following season Telstar finished in fifteenth place.

After his departure from Telstar, Snoei became the trainer of De Graafschap. With the Superboeren he failed to promote to the Eredivisie twice, after which the club from Doetinchem chose to dismiss him.
