Alpine star Mikaela Shiffrin the end-of-season celebrations didn’t go off without a hitch.
The American, who won the Olympic gold and the overall World Cup competition, presented his awards on Instagram, which had taken a bad hit.
The crystal ball to be distributed for winning the World Cup had gone into two parts.
– Oops… Unfortunately, this is not an April Fool’s joke, Shiffrin wrote on Thursday.
He elaborated later in Xhow the damage had happened.
– I opened the champagne bottle and the cork hit the trophy, which fell off the table.
Shiffrin’s Followers made fun of the situation on social media.
– He broke numerous records and a trophy on top of everything, someone laughed.
In addition to the overall World Cup competition, Shiffrin also won the slalom cup. During the season, he reached the first podium no less than nine times.
