Antero Mertaranta today interviews an artist known for his tin cows, among other things Miina Äkkijyrkka Summer terracein the program.
In a twenty-minute interview, Äkkijyrkkä remembers, among other things, how his passion for making art and cows ignited as a child.
Mertaranta also asks Äkkijyrkä how he ended up living and working at his famous Skata farm in Helsinki’s Vuosaari.
Äkkijyrkkä was evicted from the farm after 14 years in 2010. He tells Mertaranna that he still doesn’t know exactly why he was evicted.
Suddenly, there are enough stories on the subject. So much so that he has to knock out Mertaranta’s follow-up questions, because the matter is still in progress.
After several minutes, Mertaranta dares to ask if the story is already over. Was not.
– We’re about to run out of Miina’s time, now try to get to that final wall, the narrator laughs.
Abruptly, on command, he picks up the pace to get everything said. When Mertaranta thanks him for the interview, the artist is surprised how time has already run out.
As the final climax of the interview, Mertaranta asks Äkkijyrkka, who comes from a musical family, to give a small performance. The visual artist gets excited to stand up and offers the viewers at home a short song serenade.
