Miele completely takes over grill specialists

GÜTERSLOH (dpa-AFX) – The household appliance manufacturer Miele has also secured the remaining shares in the grill specialist Otto Wilde Griller. After joining in 2021, the family company based in Gütersloh, East Westphalia, took over the remaining 24.9 percent shares in December, as Miele announced on Wednesday.

The founders of the start-up, Alexander Luik and Nils Wilde, are withdrawing from the company management, but will remain as consultants, according to the announcement. “Otto Wilde has great potential that we want to use together and further expand our outdoor cooking business,” said Miele manager Gernot Trettenbrein about the takeover.

Otto Wilde Grillers was founded in Düsseldorf in 2015 by mining engineer Otto Wilde. The company is a specialist in outdoor grilling with gas. With around 11,900 employees worldwide, Miele generated sales of 5.34 billion euros in 2022./lic/DP/tih
