Over the next six years, Middelkerke will invest almost 140 million euros, without increasing taxes. The municipality is committed to, among other things, accessible and smooth services, a strong local economy, powerful villages, high-quality care, an attractive public domain and a family-friendly environment.

In addition to avoiding structural tax increases, the financial policy is based on two other pillars. “All investments we make will be with our own resources,” said Jean-Marie Dedecker, mayor of Middelkerke. “We are not incurring any debts. Our debts will be reduced by 20 to 25 percent by 2031. We also do everything with our own resources.”
