Mick Schumacher and McLaren to an agreement

Mick Schumacher will also be McLaren’s reserve driver next season.

Mercedes announced in December that it had stopped Mick Schumacher as a reserve driver for the 2023 season.

However, another parallel career in the F1 series has opened up for the now 23-year-old German.

McLaren informs that it will also have the opportunity to alert Schumacher to the wheel of his car in the coming season, if the need arises. The stables have agreed on a joint special arrangement.

McLaren told about it on Instagram. The team revealed in its publication that the driver’s contract was based on the former Michael SchumacherMick’s father’s credit man.

McLaren’s new team manager Andrea Stella namely worked as an engineer for the F1 legend during this career. Now it’s the boy’s turn to be sheltered by Stella’s wings.

Mick Schumacher drove the previous two years in the Haas team. He was left without a driving seat for the next season, when his compatriot Nico Hulkenberg replaced him by Kevin Magnussen as a team mate.

During two seasons, Schumacher drove Haas in 43 races and collected 12 World Championship points.
