Today, at the European summit in Brussels, heads of state and government celebrated the 50th anniversary of the European Council. Former chairmen were also invited for a group photo for the occasion. A notable absentee was Charles Michel (48), who was Council President three weeks ago. Michel “could no longer free himself,” says an EU source.
