Michael Zorc makes demands on BVB stars

Sports director Michael Zorc understands that national coach Hansi Flick has not invited a single player from Borussia Dortmund to the national soccer team.

“The national coach communicated with us,” said the BVB manager of “WAZ”. “On the one hand, those who are eligible are ill, or they have just come back from injury breaks. Otherwise, it’s clear: everyone is called upon to perform.”

Sebastian Kehl, head of the licensed player department and Zorc’s successor at BVB from the summer, ironically explained that even in the upcoming international break, “a good training group is in place. There are a lot of German national players there.”

He also referred to the conversation with Flick and explained: “Let’s just leave it as it is.”

BVB candidates or invited in the past were Mats Hummels, Emre Can, Mo Dahoud, Julian Brandt and Marco Reus.
