The winner of this match would advance to the eighth finals with Niko Springer. The German had surprisingly defeated both the Dutch and the Scot. But Mighty Mike was simply a size too big in terms of scoring and when the Vlijmen resident started to double up, there was no stopping his opponent. Van Gerwen won 5-2 with an average of 108.45. Wessel Nijman and Gian van Veen
