Michael Kors collaborates with Ellesse

Michael Kors and the Italian sportswear label Ellesse are launching a joint collection. The collaboration celebrates “the athletic style of the seventies,” said the US fashion company on Thursday. The collection will be available from May 9th.

The collection consists of 24 items, including track pants and sports jackets, t-shirts and shorts, sneakers, slides, a bucket hat and a swimsuit. The items have a “vintage lifestyle look”. A backpack and a bag model from Michael Kors were also included in the collection with an adapted design.

The color palette uses the characteristic Ellesse colors red and orange, as well as neutral blue and white – representative of Michael Kors classic American design language. For the purpose of the collaboration, the Michael Kors and Ellesse logos have been combined into a new emblem that can be found in different sizes and as an all-over print on the articles.

The collection is accompanied by a campaign featuring model Emily Ratajkowski, shot on a tennis court by New York photographer Lachlan Bailey. For the styling, the two labels brought Mel Ottenberg, editor-in-chief of the pop culture magazine Interview, on board.

The capsule collection will be available online at Ellesse and Michael Kors. Prices range from $68 for a t-shirt to $498 for a backpack.
