Metallica played “Sonne” by Rammstein in Berlin and an Eintracht classic live in Frankfurt. Here are five German songs that the band covered on their German tours.
Metallica is known for focusing on uniqueness in their live shows. They avoid any duplication for shows that take place two nights in a row in the same city. With two set lists without any overlaps, even repeat guests won’t be bored on the second evening. Another factor that makes Metallica’s live shows so distinctive: their cover versions. At one of their Frankfurt concerts and in Berlin, Metallica performed their own interpretation of German songs. In Frankfurt it was the unofficial Eintracht anthem “Black and White as Snow”, in Berlin the Rammstein song “Sonne”. It’s no news that Metallica likes to let off steam in German: German songs have often been used as covers on past tours.
Here we have five German songs that Metallica played live for you:
“Sonne” by Rammstein was the surprise song in Berlin on May 30th.
Metallica already played the Rammstein song “Engel” in 2019.
In Frankfurt, football fans were able to enjoy the Eintracht Frankfurt classic “Black and White as Snow”.
At their concert in Mannheim in 2019, Metallica performed “King of Germany”.
In Stuttgart 2019 everyone could sing along: “Marble, Stone and Iron Breaks” was the surprise song here.
Metallica’s stay in Germany is now over – so probably no German covers for the time being. Their M72 tour now takes them to Italy, Hungary, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
