Metallica back at number 1 in UK album chart after 15 years | show

After fifteen years, Metallica has regained the top spot in the British album chart. According to figures from the Official Charts Company 72 seasons the Official Albums Chart Top 100 next week. It is the fourth number 1 listing of the American metal band.

In a reaction to the site of the British hit parade company, the members of Metallica say they are very happy. “Spectacular, we are very grateful to you,” they say. “Thanks UK. We look forward to seeing you again.”

In 1991, Metallica had their first number 1 with their fifth album Metallica. Five years later load also at 1. In 2008 it was the turn of Death Magnetic to top the album chart. The albums were not at the top position for long. In total, the band has now been in first place for five weeks with the four records.

Metallica kicks off its new world tour next week with two concerts in the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam. The first of the two shows is on King’s Day and the American rock band “likes that”, singer James Hetfield said in the talk show Beau. “I’m glad we got to experience that.”

Next Saturday is the second show in Amsterdam. The two concerts in the Netherlands will each be unique shows, with two different setlists. “The hardest thing is not to repeat yourself. But we have enough numbers, so that should work,” said Hetfield.
