French luxury jeweler Messika has appointed Edouard Schneider as Chief Brand Officer. In this role, he will be responsible for all communications and all brand image-related activities of the group including its subsidiaries in New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Dubai, the company announced on Monday.
Schneider’s responsibilities include PR, events, social media, brand image, visual merchandising and partnerships with celebrities. As Chief Brand Officer, he will play a “key role” in the company’s leadership team and report directly to Valérie Messika, the brand’s founder and creative director, the jewelry retailer said.
Schneider was most recently head of communications at Acne Studios
According to his new employer, the new hire has more than twenty years of experience in the luxury and fashion industry. Schneider most recently held the position of Global Communication Director & Head of French Division at the fashion label Acne Studios for six and a half years. Previously, he was, among other things, Global Public and Press Relations Director at Louis Vuitton and Chief Communication Officer at Maison Margiela.
With his background, Schneider will now help to further expand the international reach of the brand. “Edouard’s global expertise – particularly in Asia – will be instrumental in driving growth in these strategically important markets,” said Valérie Messika.
