“Two different objectives guide me in the choice of exhibitions,” he explained Ilaria Dazzi, exhibition director of Mercanteinfiera. On the one hand, «contribute to a common sense of civil memorybecause yesterday’s migration stories are basically the same as we see today. Same fears, same hopes and same feelings“.

On the other hand, Dazzi continued, “Lighting a light on a design geniusand not only, which is never talked about enough which has been able to innovate the Italian industry. Mercanteinfiera wants to be a place where to train creativityfantasy but also the reflection: we welcome art lovers but we are committed to crossing the exit gates are more aware citizens“.

The exhibition has three sections: the phenomenon of emigration, ships and the crossing. They range from the posters of elegant fumigating ships sent monthly to the curias and municipal offices that advertised the new routes, at advertising of Italian products already a symbol of a pioneering “Made in Italy”.

You will be able to admire family photos framed between the two flags to seal the integration in the New World, ski stools, or shoe shine, humble destiny of many Italian macaroni, popular term with which the Italians were called. And then cockades, the Ellis Island’s dreaded health records that decreed the beginning or the end of the dream and the music melancholy of a distant homeland.

Olivetti, #StoriadiInnovation

Olivetti #History of Innovation instead is the title of the exhibition created in collaboration with theOlivetti Historical Archive Association of Ivrea. A distinct path in three stages – typewriters, cars by calculation, pc printers and cash registers – who wants to be one reflection on the concept of design according to Adriano Olivetti. That is one metaphor of responsibility towards the environmentpeople and towards the destiny of the product and of society itself.
