Unsuspecting victims thought they had a date with a woman via dating apps, but when they arrived at the agreed location they were robbed, assaulted and/or extorted. One of the men was kidnapped for a short time. That made the TV show Investigation Requested announced tonight.
Fourteen men have now filed a report; they have been victims of what are probably two groups of boys and men over the past year and a half. That happened every time in Alkmaar and West Friesland.
During the program, a 23-year-old Haarlem resident said that he had an appointment on Sunday, October 27, with what he thought was a woman in Andijk. It turned out to be a fake profile. Instead of a date, the man was met by a group of men.
Gut feeling
“In the first contact it seemed like a normal girl,” the Haarlem native explains. He drove his car to the agreed location, which looked remote and deserted. “The moment I drove through the gate I got a gut feeling. I thought: something is wrong,” he explains.
He receives a text from his ‘date’, asking him to ‘move forward’, back to where he came from. There he found a locked gate.
“They did that very quickly. I didn’t trust it at first, but I still got out of the car to open the gate.”
