Meiju Suvas reveals: A surprising living solution with her husband

Meiju Suvas says she needs her own space.

It is certainly no surprise to anyone that the artist Meiju Suvas is talkative, so really talkative. It has become clear during Meiju’s long career in numerous appearances and interviews.

Meiju herself is not quite sure where the talkativeness comes from.

– It didn’t come from the mother, the father was a dog’s jaw, so the snarls and little naughty things come from there. I myself was shy as a child, but at the age of 15 I decided that being shy was enough, and that’s when I started pointing in classes, Meiju says in the conference room of the publishing house.

– And I hum all the time, I’m a walking jukebox.

Sure enough, Meiju hums while waiting for the cameraman, who is still arranging the shooting props.

The happy talking and humming only stop when the cameraman starts taking pictures of Meiju.

Meiju is talkative, social, but she needs her own space and time. It is also reflected in his marriage.

On different floors with my husband

Meiju has been married by John “Jontte” Berger with since 2002. In the early 80s, Meiju was working for Jonte’s company, but at that time love had not yet shot his arrow.

Over the years, Meiju had relationships, even engagements, which were marked by men’s jealousy.

This is not the case in the current union. Neither of them are jealous.

– He is the right ukulele for me. He gives me space, I give him space. He’s the best cook in the world, which is pretty cool.

– And we sleep on different floors. We have such different schedules, he goes to bed early and wakes up early, my work starts late, so I sleep late. If we hadn’t made such a decision, we would have definitely divorced, Meiju laughs.

Bite me

In Meiju’s biography to be published on Wednesday Meiju – I won’t settle for less (Oak) it shows Meiju’s determination and how she does not give up. Meiju’s biggest hit Bite me wouldn’t have been born without Meiju’s stubbornness, when the record company didn’t believe in the song.

Fighting for a song is something that Meiju is proud of in her career.

– I believed in it and getting it through was my fight. I had such a strong feeling inside, I believed in it like a mountain. Such a rooting “räyh” song is needed in Finland.

Many long-standing artists and bands may not play their biggest hits at their concerts, for one reason or another. The British Radiohead, for example, plays very rarely Creep-his hit.

Of course, Meiju doesn’t do this.

– I really wouldn’t pass it up. I don’t know what would happen if you didn’t hear it at gigs, and more than once.

Suvas doesn’t give up easily, but listens to his instincts. Inka Soveri

No break

Many artists of the younger generation, whose careers are a fraction of Meiju’s, have quit or taken a longer break. Meiju, who has dreamed of a career as a singer since she was a child, has never thought of such a thing.

– Everyone plays in their own style. Maybe they’ve already gotten so much (from music) that they can’t figure out how to get more. I can never get enough of music. I enjoy it so much, this is a way of life for me.

64-year-old Meiju says her dreams are related to health. To remain functional and to keep the fire for making music.

– I feel the best I’ve ever felt! I have an absolutely wonderful band, the children are also involved. My son takes care of the lights and my daughter sings stemmas. I hope I get more hit songs and we’ll see if we go to the Olympic Stadium in the end, you can always dream big!

Meiju Suvas hopes that the fire for making music and singing will not disappear anywhere. Inka Soveri
