Shortly before the start of her North American tour, Meghan Trainor pulls the ripcord: family instead of stage. What’s behind the surprising cancellation.
American pop singer Meghan Trainor has surprisingly canceled her planned “Get In Girl Tour”. The concert series that was supposed to run through North America in the summer of 2026 will therefore not take place. The artist herself announced the decision via Instagram story in a personal statement – and justified it primarily with the growing demands in her private life and career.
Between family life and career
In her statement, Meghan Trainor makes it clear that the cancellation was not a spontaneous decision. Rather, after “careful consideration” and intensive discussions, she decided not to go on the tour. The main deciding factor is her current life situation: she only became a mother for the third time at the beginning of the year.
The combination of the new album, tour preparations and family obligations increasingly overwhelmed her. She literally explained that all of this was “more than I can handle at the moment”. She particularly emphasized her desire to be present for her family during this phase. The priorities have shifted – away from professional obligations and towards the private environment.
Planned tour with great ambitions
The “Get In Girl Tour” was designed as an extensive North American tour. A total of more than 30 concerts were planned between June and August 2026, including shows in major cities such as New York, Toronto and Los Angeles.
The tour was intended to support the seventh studio album “Toy With Me”, which will be released at the end of April. Trainor had already released several singles in advance and positioned the concert series as an important part of the album campaign. The expectations among fans were correspondingly high.
Dealing with disappointed fans
The cancellation comes just a few weeks before the planned start of the tour and will come as a surprise to many fans. Trainor was aware of this and specifically apologized to her audience. She knows that the decision is disappointing, but believes it is necessary and right.
At the same time, the singer tried to look forward. She announced that she would return soon and expressed confidence that she would see her fans live again in the future. A specific replacement date for the canceled tour has not yet been set.
