Berlin (dpa) – According to media reports, Bundesliga soccer team FC Bayern Munich is said to be interested in former Dortmund player Ousmane Dembélé.
As the French sports newspaper “L’Equipe” reports, the 2018 world champion, whose contract with FC Barcelona is expiring, is said to be a candidate for Munich. Sky Sports UK and Spanish media had previously reported on Munich’s interest.
Dembélé, who was repeatedly thrown back by injuries in Barcelona and has since fallen out of favor with those responsible, would probably be an issue in Munich if German international Serge Gnabry (contract until 2023) left the club.
No agreement with Gnabry
FC Bayern and Gnabry have not yet been able to agree on a contract extension. “Our sporting leadership is in discussion with Serge. But our ideas are still a little apart, so we have to agree,” said President Herbert Hainer in the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”.
Even if the Frenchman were free, Bayern would have to pay a lot for the deal. In addition to FC Barcelona, who, according to the media, would like to extend, Paris Saint-Germain should also advertise Dembélé.
Dembélé switched from Borussia Dortmund to FC Barcelona in the summer of 2017 with some background noise. With an estimated total of around 140 million euros, it is considered the most expensive transfer in Bundesliga history.
