Pep Guardiola, who coaches the English team Manchester City, called for solidarity for the Palestinian athletes who were killed in the match between the Catalonia and Palestine national teams on Tuesday.
In his message, the 54-year-old Catalan coach said, “Barcelona, the city of peace, is hosting the match between the Catalan National Team and the Palestinian National Team at the Olympic Stadium on Tuesday. This match is much more than a sports match; it is a call for solidarity to respect the more than 400 Palestinian athletes killed in Gaza. Let’s fill the stadium.” he said.
The Palestinian National Team will play solidarity matches with the Basque National Team at the San Mames Stadium tomorrow, and with the Catalonia National Team at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona on Tuesday, November 18.
