The police spent all day on Thursday investigating the shooting at a house in the Empel district of Den Bosch. Mayor Jack Mikkers responds that he is ‘shocked’ by the shooting incident.
Just before midnight, explosions rang out at the Breeakkers on Wednesday evening. It soon became apparent that shots had been fired at a home. Bullet holes were visible on both the front and the back on Thursday.
Possible visit to the district
Local residents reacted with alarm to the shooting incident. The same applies to Mayor Jack Mikkers of Den Bosch. “Just like the residents of Empel and especially those living directly nearby, I am also shocked by the shooting incident,” he said. “The police are investigating the incident and we are awaiting the results.”
Mikkers says he keeps his finger on the pulse of local residents. He may visit the neighborhood at a later date.
Research into possible measures
The municipality of Den Bosch says that the police and municipality spoke with local residents on Thursday afternoon and evening to discuss concerns and questions. The municipality is also investigating whether measures need to be taken in the area.
No one was injured after the shooting incident. There are said to be several suspects who fled in a car.
