Village of Moerdijk must disappear: ‘Sad for people who just bought a house’
The village of Moerdijk must disappear. The mayor and aldermen have informed the residents of the village that the entire village will be closed down. An alderman hopes that residents can continue to live in Moerdijk for another ten years. With the disappearance of the village, room must be made for an expansion of the industrial area. For many residents of Moerdijk, this decision did not come as a total surprise, as there has been bickering about the future of the place for some time. An evening was organized on Tuesday where residents were told what will happen to their houses and their village. Reporter Hein Keijser took a look at the village after this charged evening.
