A house on Frisostraat in Rijsbergen will be closed for three months from Thursday due to recurring nuisance caused by the use of laughing gas. Large amounts of laughing gas were also found in the house. Mayor Joyce Vermue announced on Thursday that this is the first closure due to laughing gas in the municipality of Zundert.
Nitrous oxide has been covered by the Opium Act since January 1, 2023. “The trade and presence of drugs, including laughing gas, seriously affects our safety and quality of life,” says the mayor. “We want residents to feel safe in their own neighborhood. That is why I always take enforcement action against violations of the Opium Act.”
