Maxime Meiland is mentioned as an option to succeed Yvonne Coldeweijer as presenter of the new daily show program on Net5. “He doesn’t even watch television!”
It was a strange message that came out: at the beginning of last week it turned out that Maxime Meiland would become one of the regular guests in Yvonne Coldeweijer’s daily Net5 show De Juice, which ultimately never made it to the screen. The reality star left the project at one point because she did not have enough confidence in it.
“It’s money!”
John de Mol has now indicated that he is done with Yvonne, but wants to continue the daily show project with another presenter. How could Yvonne have let it get to this point? “It’s just like the door at the carpenter’s house is always stuck. She’s just not smart with her own PR,” says Private Boss Evert Santegoeds.
Co-host Jordi Versteegden criticizes that Yvonne remains silent, he says in the podcast Strictly Private. “I think it’s a shame. Yvonne is someone who always brought a lot of juice herself and now we are checking something with her… I think it has to do with money. That negotiations are taking place behind the scenes about how they can get out of the contract.”
Default
Evert thinks there is a serious chance that John can get rid of Yvonne without too much damage. “If you perform poorly, and that’s what it seems like when you chase everyone out of the door, then I don’t think you can make much claim. Programs that don’t happen usually don’t get paid either.”
Jordi wonders who can succeed Yvonne in this project. “A Maxime Meiland, for example? He would have said no before.”
No television
Evert has doubts about that. “Yes, but Maxime Meiland?”
Jordi: “You don’t see that one there?”
Evert: “No. Maxime Meiland is one of the people who is proud that she doesn’t watch TV, so how should she talk about TV people and the people who appear in juice stories? I don’t see it happening, to be honest.”
Jordi finally: “How can you even make a program called The Juice, which is very much dependent on Yvonne…”
