The race, held at the 5.5-kilometer Circuit of America in Austin, the capital of the state of Texas in the USA, was held over 56 laps.
Verstappen, who started the race from the pole position and finished first with a time of 1 hour, 34 minutes and 00.161 seconds, won the 5th race of the season.
McLaren’s British Lando Norris came second, 7.959 seconds behind Verstappen, and Ferrari’s Monaco Charles Leclerc came third, 15.373 seconds behind the leader.
The 20th leg of the season, the Mexican Grand Prix, will be run on Sunday, October 26.
