Verstappen has become a father – and shows the first baby photo

Max Verstappen wants to shorten the gap to Oscar Piatri in Miami. But even a victory in the USA would not be the most beautiful news for the Formula 1 world champion.
“Welcome to the world, sweet Lily.” With these words, Max Verstappen and his partner Kelly Piquet announced on Instagram that they have become a daughter’s parents. For this reason, the Formula 1 world champion was missing on Thursday at the media day before Miami’s Grand Prix.
“Our hearts are more fulfilled than ever – you are our biggest gift. We love you so much,” said Verstappen and his partner. His sister Victoria was one of the first congratulators. “Can’t wait to get to know you,” she commented on the post.
Verstappen has been in a relationship with Kelly Piquet since 2020. The 36-year-old is a granddaughter of the Brazilian ex-world champion Nelson Piquet. She has a daughter from an earlier relationship with the Russian former Formula 1 driver Daniil Kwjat.
In December last year at the season finale in Abu Dhabi, Verstappen and Piquet had made the pregnancy of the South American known. “Mini Verstappen-Piquet on the way. We couldn’t be happier with our little miracle,” they wrote at the time.
By the way: Red Bull fans do not have to do without Verstappen on Sunday. His racing team had already announced on Thursday that he would return to the route on Friday.
