The former German darts leader Max Hopp just missed the leap to the World Cup in London.

The “Maximiser”, as Hopp is called, surprisingly made it into the final of the Western Europe qualifier in Kalkar, but was clearly beaten by Dutchman Jimmy Hendriks 2:7.

A victory in the final would have qualified him for the most important event of the year.

In the national qualification, Hopp had recently presented himself poorly and even missed the quarterfinals.

There is another chance on Monday when the very last World Cup tickets are awarded at an international qualifying tournament. The draw will be made immediately afterwards.

The World Cup at Alexandra Palace will take place from December 15th to January 3rd. Hopp had already missed a participation last year.
