The 47-year-old Schoenaerts was caught twice last April for driving without a driver’s license. He lost it in January 2023 when he went on the road under the influence.
To regain his driver’s license, Schoenaerts had to undergo medical and psychological tests and re-pass his theoretical and practical driving test. The actor, who has also appeared in various Hollywood productions, has still not done this.

Serious risk
According to a court spokesperson, the court underlines with this sentence that Schoenaerts posed a serious risk to road safety. “Certainly when previous measures do not lead to appropriate behavior, a strict signal is necessary to protect society and prevent recidivism.”
It was announced on Friday that Schoenaerts had gone back on the road without a driver’s license on November 21. He also refused to undergo a breath test and behaved defiantly when his car was towed away. Schoenaerts was arrested and held in custody for several hours.
The investigation into this incident is still ongoing and has not been taken into account by the police judge.
