A revealing article about the ‘monstrous’ behavior of Matthijs van Nieuwkerk is still being worked on. Writer Ronit Palache hinted at this in the talk show Khalid & Sophie last night.
According to De Telegraaf, Matthijs van Nieuwkerk has shown ‘monstrous behaviour’ for years behind the scenes of his hit program De Wereld Draait Door. BNNVARA neither confirms nor denies this, but it appears that a revealing article about his behavior is being prepared. It would be a long article in the Volkskrant.
Article about Matthijs?
The rumor that (former) employees are being pressured by the broadcasting top not to talk to de Volkskrant is incorrect, BNNVARA informed this site in August: “This is not true and of course we would never put any pressure on employees. After all, BNNVARA attaches great importance to freedom of expression.”
Writer Ronit Palache hinted at this alleged Volkskrant article in Khalid & Sophie yesterday. The talk show was about the alleged cross-border behavior of former Speaker of the House Khadija Arib. “What strikes me most is that people always say, ‘Yeah, but everyone already knew?’ That’s always the case,” says Ronit.
‘Long in preparation’
According to Ronit, it’s about patterns. “Those are just patterns, aren’t they? You just recognize very characteristic patterns in all these kinds of stories. As if that were an argument for something. The problem is that everyone knows this.”
Dan, clearly pointing to Matthijs: “It also applies to public broadcasting. An article about a certain talk show host has been worked on for a very long time, but yes: it is a story about a company doctor knows that, an HR manager knows that. People know this and do not intervene. That’s the problem.”
Olcay critical
Olcay Gulsen, who sits next to Ronit, critically asks: “But which talk show host do you mean?”
Ronit: “I’m not going to bring that up now.”
Olcay: “We shout so many things, you know. Suddenly it’s a headline again and a whole story is created. I really think we should be careful about saying things about ‘a certain talk show host’. What you are doing now is simply wrong.”
‘Shut up’
Ronit: “I just have friends who have worked there and told the worst things. That is just known.”
Hostess Sophie Hilbrand, who apparently knows more: “And an investigation is being done.”
Fellow table guest Hugo Logtenberg: “That is also journalism. Do that research, publish it and until then: shut up.”
Sophie: “Until then, we’re not going to talk about it.”
