Matthew Perry: Cause of death listed on death certificate as “postponed.”

No signs of meth or fentanyl were detected in the actor’s body.

Matthew Perry died on October 29th at the age of 54. When the actor was found in the hot tub at his property in Los Angeles, he was already dead. So far, only speculation could be made about the cause – and the official death certificate that has now been published did not contain a definitive explanation.

Perry suffered from drug and alcohol addiction for years, as he revealed in his memoir “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.” After an initial autopsy found no signs of meth or fentanyl in his body, his cause of death was classified as “inconclusive.” Until a final update is released in “four to six months,” the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health listed the reason on the death certificate as “deferred.”

The document also includes the burial location of the “Friends” actor. Perry was buried on November 3rd at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles, where the private memorial service also took place.

It was recently made public that the actor was planning a biopic about his life. Athenna Crosby – a good friend of the comedian – said in an interview with the Canadian news magazine “Entertainment Tonight” that Perry would have wanted Zac Efron as the leading actor.
