Ex-hockey player Matt Davidson has died at the age of 48, the WHL club Portland Winterhawks says in its announcement.

The 1995 fourth-round draft pick of the Buffalo Sabers made his NHL debut in the 2000-2001 season with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

He accumulated a total of 56 NHL games over the next three seasons, in which he scored 5+7=12. In the AHL between 1997 and 2004, he played a total of 465 games, where he scored 108+113=221 power points.

When Davidson’s career didn’t get off to a good start in North America, he decided to move to the German DEL league. After two seasons, however, he moved to Finland and Kuopio. He played a total of 55 matches in KalPa with an output of 16+9=25.

After KalPa, he ended his playing career by playing two seasons in Denmark and two in Sweden at Tingsryds IF.
