In the fall, Wirtavuori told Iltalehti that he had received calls to lose weight from international Miss Universum fans. Despite the criticism, he decided to compete in a way where appearance was not the top priority.
– Also because of my eating disorder background, I will never lose weight again. I want to be an example of a healthy and well-being body, Miss Suomi said.
Wirtavuori made history in the competition when she was crowned Miss Universe of Europe and the Middle East. With his victory, Wirtavuori is facing a big life change, as he recently told Iltalehte that he had given up his apartment in Tampere at the end of November. Wirtavuori said he plans to move to Helsinki at the beginning of January.
– I have always thought that I would never move to Helsinki! And now it will be changed. But this is a purely practical solution. Now that I have spent my autumn in Helsinki, I have noticed that I like this place. It’s not a terrible thing that I’m moving, he stated.
