Cyclist Mathieu van der Poel will start on Sunday 10 April in the Amstel Gold Race.
The cyclist announced this on Sunday after the Tour of Flanders that he won.

The team management of Team Alpecin-Fenix initially had a hard time putting the driver in the Limburg classic. But after his performances in Dwars door Vlaanderen and the Ronde van Vlaanderen, he will also appear as leader in the Amstel Gold Race. Van de Poel won both Dwars door Vlaanderen and the Tour of Flanders.
One week after the Amstel Gold Race, Van der Poel will close his classic spring with Paris-Roubaix. After the cobbled classic, he will start preparing for the Giro d’Italia.
Winner in 2019
Mathieu van der Poel won the Amstel Gold Race in an impressive way in 2019. From a beaten position he managed to overtake his opponents just before the finish and return home with the win.
