Matchday 12 of Serie A: Napoli continues to extend club record

Status: 10/29/2022 4:51 p.m

SSC Napoli remains undefeated in Serie A even after the 12th matchday. In the 4-0 (3-0) win against Sassuolo Calcio, the two top scorers Victor Osimhen (4th/19th/76th) and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (36th) were the decisive pros. Sassuolo’s Armand Laurienté had to leave the field with a yellow card (84′).

Osimhen scored his five and six goals of the season with the early brace but only needed eight league games to do so. With his third goal, he shot himself to the top of the Italian top scorers list. Teammate Kvaratskhelia is just one spot behind after scoring.

Napoli played very powerfully from the start: Sassuolo, ninth in the table, was under constant defensive stress – and was unable to withstand it for the first time after four minutes. After 20 minutes the preliminary decision was made. After a dream pass, the Georgian Kvaratskhelia scored the third goal in the first round.

In the second round, the front runner downshifted a bit. Ex-Wolfsburg Osimhen used a catastrophic bad pass in his feet to score the fourth SSC goal. Lauriente’s dismissal for a foul on Germany’s Diego Demme put the end to the one-sided game.
