Match SC Feyenoord-ASV De Dijk canceled due to dozens of ‘Ajax supporters in black’

The match that Feyenoord’s amateur footballers were supposed to play this afternoon at 2.30 pm at ASV De Dijk in Amsterdam-Noord has been cancelled. Dozens of ‘Ajax supporters dressed in black’ stood in and around the clubhouse from 12.30 pm, said Loek Wisman, board member of ASV De Dijk. “In consultation with all parties, we decided that we could not guarantee safety.”

It was not just a decision, says Wisman. When he saw about 40 to 45 people in black, he got the impression ‘that it had not been a great welcome for the visiting club’. “I understood that a number of people were recognized as active within Ajax and the F-side.”

After contacting the police, it turned out that they had no people available to come and help. The KNVB and the Feyenoord board were also consulted and it was finally decided not to play the match around 1.15 pm. Fortunately, the group responded well to this. Wisman: “A few had another drink and then left.”

According to Wisman, the SC Feyenoord player bus turned back to Rotterdam just before arriving in Amsterdam.

Sad

Wisman regrets the course of events and points to the events in professional football in recent weeks, such as the riots in the AZ stadium last Thursday and the canceled Groningen-Ajax match. “It is of course extremely sad that this is now apparently also necessary at an amateur club in Amsterdam to manifest in this way.”
