Thanks to morals and later Joker goals, SC Freiburg in the Baden-Württemberg duel with VfB Stuttgart celebrated the first win of the season in the Bundesliga. Borussia Dortmund spent a quiet and successful afternoon in Heidenheim. Sieges also celebrated Hoffenheim in Berlin and Leipzig in Mainz. Wolfsburg and Cologne were spectacular.
Despite a 0-1 deficit, Freiburg won 3: 1 (0: 1) against VfB. The two substituted newcomers Igor Matanovic (81./90.+2) and Derry Scherhann (86th) redeemed the previously pointless Badeners, who had long been behind one behind and had lost twice on the first two match days. Matanovic also converted a penalty to the final score in added time. The Freiburg won the game, but still lost Johan Manzambi by red card (90.+8). The Heidenheimers have no point after three league games this season.
Guirassy put the Dortmund in the lead in the 33rd minute and thus hit the eighth league game in series. Maximilian Beier, who had already shown form in the previous victory against Union Berlin (3-0) and most recently in the national team’s jersey, followed up shortly before the break (45.+6). Heidenheim’s striker Budu ZivziVadze had seen the red card early on (21st).
TSG wins at Union, RB in Mainz – spectacle in Wolfsburg
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim won 4: 2 (2-0) against 1. FC Union Berlin and thus celebrated the second win in the third game. Andrej Kramaric (45.+1) and Tim Lemperle (83.) each with a transformed penalty and double packer Fisnik Asllani (45.+3/51), who was trained in the Union youth, scored the goals for the guests. For the Iron, Ilyas had shortened (49th) and Tom Rothe (71st). The Köpenickers played the last few minutes after a dismissal for Rothe (82nd).
A stroke of genius by Johan Bakayoko has given RB Leipzig three deserved points at FSV Mainz 05 and made the seasonal start of the conference League participant perfectly. In front of 32,000 spectators, the summer newcomer hit 1-0 (1: 0) victory for the Saxons convincing, especially on the defensive. Mainz, on the other hand, continues to wait for the first success after the third game in the Bundesliga.
The 1st FC Köln spectacularly spoiled the birthday party of VfL Wolfsburg. After three goals in added time, it was still 3: 3 (1: 1) at the weekend of the 80-year VfL existence in the Volkswagen Arena.
Due to three game interruptions, more than a quarter of an hour had to be re -enacted in this turbulent game, and this extra time was tough. First, ísak Jóhannesson (90.+1) scored 2-2 for FC. A free kick by Captain Maximilian Arnold (90.+9) afterwards supposedly gave the Wolfsburgers the first Bundesliga home victory since January 14th. However, the last answer was again the unbeaten climber: the Jakub Kaminski, borrowed from VfL Wolfsburg, was still 3: 3 (90.+14).
