The sixth episode of the fifteenth edition of MasterChef opens with a Red Mystery Box which immediately puts pressure on: 45 minutes, a bittersweet theme, and a “fitted” pantry to be handled with precision. They appear on the counter rennet apple, zuchini trumpet, pomegranate, eelbelly of little pigroot of lotus, spring onions borettane and endive Belgian, then the arsenal that makes the difference: vinegars (cider, cherry, raspberry, barley malt, beer, rice) e sweeteners (acacia honey, muscovado sugar, cane molasses, date syrup).
Among the dishes that convince the judges the most, they stand out “Bittersweet like me” Of Carlotta (pig glazed with raspberry vinegar and acacia honey, courgette sauce, endive, date syrup and beer vinegar chutney) and “From the East to the Sargasso Sea” Of Nicholaswith marinated eel and lotus root worked in a sweet-sour way. There victory it goes right to Niccolò, who takes it Golden Pin and you also earn a little shout out with Cannavacciuolo: promise of a location more “suitable” for his height. On the other side of the ranking, however, those who don’t find balance or don’t finish cooking well end up: among the most criticized are Irene, Georgina, Dounia And Theo. And here attitude also comes into play: judges appreciate those who recognize mistakes, much less those who stiffen.
