In Magdeburg, the police found the identity of almost 70 people after a dispute between allegedly rival football fans.
The two groups met early Saturday afternoon before the friendly match between 1. FC Magdeburg and 1. FC Union Berlin at the Magdeburg Stadthalle, the police said on Sunday.
Several witnesses informed the officials that people were attacking and beating each other.
According to the police, a large part of the identified people came from the greater Berlin area. They were sent off and were not allowed into the stadium. In addition, proceedings were initiated for particularly serious breaches of the peace.
The investigation is ongoing. The police are looking for witnesses.
