Once again, the criminal police have to deal with a case of serious arson. The unknown person or persons struck again in Marzahn. Recently, cars and mobile homes have often been on fire there.
Shortly after 3 a.m. on Sunday night, several residents noticed heavy smoke and bright flames in large parking spaces on Märkische Allee and informed the fire department. A large contingent turned out.
A total of seven vehicles were on fire, but emergency services were able to prevent it from spreading to other cars. While the fire was being extinguished, the same perpetrators apparently set fire to several containers at garbage collection points in the immediate area.
The police therefore brought together forces from three police departments. A helicopter was also used, whose crew used a thermal imaging camera to search for the perpetrators – without success.
The arsons may be related to similar attacks in which mobile homes, truck tarpaulins and trash cans were torched in the area in recent weeks.
